Cabin Days
One day each week, usually Thursdays, cabin groups spend the day together. A day excursion away from camp is the usual cabin day venue and groups

can often be found throughout the White Mountains jumping into swimming holes, summiting peaks, or floating down rivers in inner-tubes. A stop for ice cream on the way back to camp is a must!

Clinic Nights
Clinic Night, usually on Tuesday, is much anticipated by campers and provides a break from the usual program of activities. Counselors team up to create and offer mini-workshops or games, providing a wonderful opportunity to share some of their unique talents and interests with the campers. The possibilities on clinic night are endless and diverse, and in the past have included wood-carving, rugby, mushroom walks, improvisation, building saunas, dock-jumping (with bikes), disc-golf, games of strategy, juggling, guitar and so many more!

Blue-Gray Competition
While we do not believe in competing against other camps, we do have two teams within camp: the Blues and the Grays. Two evenings each week find Blues and Grays playing games by age group. On Saturday afternoons, larger Blue-Gray events (involving the whole camp) are held. Throughout all Blue-Gray events, participation, inclusion, and sportsmanship are stressed.

Water Battle
Words can't quite describe the Water Battle. This may give an idea, but to fully understand and appreciate the Water Battle, it must be experienced (or witnessed) first hand.

Carnival and Casio Night
Our Fourth of July Carnival and our Casino Night are always big hits with the campers. Roughly 20 different game booths are set up and run by counselors. Carnival Night features games of skill where winners receive the precious “red tickets,” while on Casino Night campers gamble on various games of chance, hoping to win Deerwood “bucks.” The costumes from these events are always quite memorable.

Treasure Hunt
During the change-over period between first and second sessions, the older full-time and second-half campers participate in a two-day Treasure Hunt. Twenty to thirty challenging clues must be solved by each team as they are led to destinations throughout camp and across Squam Lake .

Sample Clues

"Where herbs perennial will teem
where tree stumps are not what they seem
where nearby lurks the garlic fiend"
