Deerwood offers a variety of activities which provide campers with challenges and new experiences. Unlike many other camps, the boys are free to choose their activities each day and do not travel to a block of scheduled activities with their age-group. This Deerwood philosophy seems to help foster in the campers tremendous pride in their accomplishments.

Swimming is the one regularly scheduled activity as we feel strongly that this is one area in which all campers should continue to become more proficient. To get a better sense of a camper's typical day at Deerwood, click here on the link for daily schedule.

Trips are also a big part of the Deerwood program, with each boy having the opportunity to participate in at least one overnight camping trip (backpacking or canoeing) and several day trips (hiking, canoeing, kayaking, climbing or mountain biking).

Day and overnight sailing trips are also becoming more frequent and popular. With Squam Lake as our back yard and most destinations in the White Mountains under an hour's drive, Deerwood trippers are quite fortunate.

In addition to the regular activities and trips, the Deerwood program is enhanced by unique special events and other Deerwood traditions. To learn more about some of these, click on the links above…
